Gratitude
Buy a new notebook or diary and choose a moment of the day when you feel calm and comfortable, I do this every night before I go to bed. Write down something you are grateful for. This can be anything.
When you look through your notebook, it will help you to appreciate the things in your life so much more and easier. These are mostly little things we attend to forget when we feel negative or unhappy, but those things are truly meaningful.


Dream
I have another little notebook where I write down my dreams, dreams about my future. This can be anything, small dreams or really big dreams who even seem impossible.
When you write about the future, you forget the sadness you feel at that moment. You will see the things that you really want in your life. I truly believe that if you hold on to your dreams, they will become reality.

Living in the moment
You can dream a lot, just like I explained above. But it is also very important to be in the moment. People are always worrying about their past regrets or what will happen in the future that they forget to live in the day where they are right now.
There are a lot of little exercises you can do to practice to live in the moment. It is not always easy because you can get distracted so fast by your thoughts or anything around you. I practice this by for example going to the forest and just focus on the sounds I hear (the wind, leaves, birds that are singing,..). But you can practice this with all your senses. You can look around and focus on details you would normally never see. You can smell and try to describe everything. You can feel, touch a tree or plants,.. You can practice this wherever you want.

  1. Gratitude is one of the things I find extremely important for wellbeing. Each day I find at least five things that I am grateful for.

  3. Remembering to be grateful for the small things when other things are getting you down is so important. It can be so difficult to focus on the immediate moment when there is so much going on in your life

    1. Exactly, That's why it's important for me to write it down, so you can just look trough it when you're not feeling well. And yes it is really difficult, but these exercises truly help, even if it is just for 5min.
